Terms of Use

Effective June 11, 2026

Short version: be reasonable, let Apple handle the money, and please don’t treat a nap timer as medical equipment. The longer version follows.

1. The license

You Need a Nap is licensed, not sold, to you for personal use on Apple devices you own or control. Your use of the app is governed by Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, supplemented by the terms on this page. Don’t copy, redistribute, or reverse engineer the app except where the law says I can’t stop you.

2. Trial, subscriptions, and billing

Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. After that: Monthly ($1.99), Yearly ($14.99), or a one-time Lifetime purchase ($29.99). Prices vary by country and currency — the App Store always shows the final price before you confirm.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings; the trial converts to a paid plan unless cancelled before it ends.
  • All billing, payment processing, and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms. I never see your payment details and cannot issue refunds directly.
  • Lifetime is a one-time purchase for the app as it exists and evolves — no recurring charges.

3. Not a medical device

This matters. You Need a Nap estimates sleep using heart rate and wrist movement. It is approximate by nature, is not a medical device, and provides no diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice. Don’t rely on it for health decisions — talk to a doctor about sleep concerns. And never use it in situations where falling asleep or oversleeping could endanger you or anyone else (driving, operating machinery, being on duty, holding a very full cup of coffee).

4. The app is provided “as is”

I work hard to make the app reliable, but it’s provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, my total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights that consumer law grants you and that can’t be waived.

5. Changes to the app or these terms

The app will evolve, and these terms may too. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.

6. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live. Apple is not a party to these terms, except as described in its standard EULA.
